I’ve been in love with the Japanese brand A Bathing Ape for years now and couldn’t wait to finally visit one of these gorgeous stores myself. Turns out that the clothes don’t fit me. Either too small or too big. So I left the store empty-handed. What a shitty season SS 2013 was. If you’re interested in buying Bape directly from Japan head over to my guide with instructions on how to order from Japan.
Even if Nigo, the creator of Bape, sold the company a couple of years ago, I still like the designs. Especially their clothing for women. Great stuff, combining multiple materials with a very fresh approach to casual fashion. Love it!
I did an updated version of this post so just head over to see more pictures of the Bape exclusive store in Aoyama.
The Bape store in Aoyama itself is a brilliant piece of interior design and doesn’t fall behind Wonderwall’s other projects. For those of you who don’t already know: Wonderwall is a fantastic interior designer but just have a look at my post about his book Wonderwall Archives 01. I just love his sense for space and light. Everything seems so simple and clean.
The Bape ceiling. Just love it. Wouldn’t look half as good anywhere else though.
