My girlfriend loves foreign magazines. Especially the ones which are about fashion, architecture and interior design. The good thing about them: You don’t need to know the language these magazines are written in to enjoy their content. The pictures are more than sufficient and actually what these papers are all about.
I’ve already shown you the book Fresh Fruits which collects some of the best pictures from the monthly mag and I thought it would be a nice idea to show an actual fruits magazine to you. They were once printed in a regular Din A4 size but changed the format a couple of years ago to something like A5. I personally prefer the bigger version. It just makes sense when a magazine is all about the pictures to present them in the biggest format possible. But they probably had to step back a bit to reduce the production costs.
I already said that I haven’t laid my hands on an issue of Tune or Street, the other two street style magazines published by Shoichi Aoki. But when I look at the Fruits website right now I get the strong urge to order one or two back issues. I’ll make sure to take some pictures for you once they arrived.
