Kyary Pamyu Pamyu’s guide to kawaii Tokyo

kyary pamyu pamyu guide tokyo

Kyary Pamyu Pamyu is everywhere. You can’t walk around Tokyo without noticing the young blogger, model and, very recently, musician. The girl is omnipresent. While I was in Japan, I talked to a friend of mine about her. He told me that Kyary has been part of the “industry” since she was a little girl. Few people know about it, but apparently, she starred as a bathing suit model when she was so very young. And of course, everyone who has read her autobiography (like my girlfriend) knows, that her mother used to hit her pretty often. So not everything is as peachy and awesome as the happy colorful music videos of the Japanese idol might suggest.

Supported by Space Shower, Kyary made a little guide showing us her favorite spots, shops, and locations in Tokyo. From delicious burger restaurants in Shibuya to arcades in Akihabara and used bookstores in Nakano- You can find a wide selection in this little book. Fun stuff, with just the right amount of weirdness.

In case you’re interested in reading a little piece of Kyary’s mind, check out her fan blog. You can find her autobiography and an English version there for free. Nice time-filler!
