Fashion savvy readers probably remember the nanamica webshop from my post about the The North Face Purple Label. But apart from carrying the very stylish Japan only line from the most popular outdoor-gear manufacturer in the world, the shop is producing it’s own collection of clothing as well. The fabrics are well selected and the color patterns always make sure to mix it up a little. It’s that very Japanese approach towards fashion that always shines through nanamica’s own collections. Classics re-innovated or better yet, in an updated version.
The varsity jacket is a beloved american basic but has never looked more stylish and fashionable than in this light-blue version. Clean looks, strictly reduced to their basic forms and patterns. I just love their stuff. If it wasn’t for high import taxes on clothing and it always being a gamble with choosing the correct size, I would immediately order one of these jackets. I’m currently searching for something nice and warm with a zipper to wear while I’m out studying in the library. Right now my red Bape shark keeps me warm and motivated, but I need something to mix it up a little. Maybe some of you know the feeling that you’re wearing almost the exact same thing when you go learning. It’s kind of a ritual, wear the same thing, sit at the same table and hopefully learn different stuff.
Unfortunately this season of The North face Purple Label is pretty unexciting. I was looking for a nice vest, something a tad special. Bape is my obvious choice there but this seasons down vest has a hood which I really don’t want. Maybe I’ll just go the second hand route via yahoo auctions and grab one of the older versions. Picked one out already but it will be another thing to find that in size M.
